Recently I had the wonderful pleasure of photographing a good friend’s wedding. We’ve known each other since 6th grade bassoon class. Gina has always been an absolute joy in my life, full of light and positive energy, creating laughs and smiles where ever she goes. I’m so happy for her and Mackenzy. They share the same energy and light up each others eyes with laughs and love.
Their wedding was held at the Washington D.C. LDS Temple. This was my first time ever attending a Mormon wedding and going to an LDS Temple. I was very honored they invited me to be a part of their day. I learned so much about the Temple and about Mormon marriage. I was not able to go into the Temple for the marriage ceremony because it is a very sacred space for members of the LDS church. However, there is a to scale model of the temple in the visitors center – so I got to learn about where they hold the ceremony and how it takes place. Every culture and religion has their own customs, especially surrounding marriage, I love getting to learn how they overlap and how they differ. Each history is so unique.
